Se estudiaron las propiedades estadísticas de los sismos que han tenido lugar en el Estado de Querétaro. Con ese propósito se compiló un catálogo de sismos con 268 eventos registrados entre Noviembre de 1887 y Junio del 2021. Las magnitudes de los sismos analizados varían entre 0.7 y 5.3. Los sismos utilizados fueron reportados por el Servicio Sismológico Nacional y diversas fuentes bibliográficas. Se determinaron propiedades estadísticas de la sismicidad como el valor b y las medidas de tendencia central para la magnitud y la profundidad hipocentral. Los resultados indican un valor b promedio de 0.83 para Querétaro. El análisis con la profundidad indica que únicamente a una profundidad de 5 km es posible estimar de forma confiable el valor b. Los resultados son consistentes con regiones con tazas de sismicidad semejantes a las presentadas en el Estado de Querétaro.

The statistical properties of the earthquakes that have taken place in the State of Querétaro were studied. For that purpose, a catalog of earthquakes was compiled with 268 events recorded between November 1887 and June 2021. The magnitudes of the analyzed earthquakes vary between 0.7 and 5.3. The earthquakes used were reported by the National Seismological Service and various bibliographic sources. Statistical properties of seismicity were determined, such as the b-value and measures of central tendency for the magnitude and hypocentral depth. The results indicate an average b-value of 0.83 for Querétaro. The depth analysis indicates that only at a depth of 5 km it is possible to estimate the b-value reliably. The results are consistent with regions with seismicity rates similar to those presented in the State of Querétaro.
